Day 2 (Giorno 2)

Posted on Updated on

–English version at the end–

Today Sofia and I made the 248 miles from Bakersfield to the Death Valley. The “Valley of Death,” as the name suggests, is one of the great depressions of the world, being under the sea level. It is very hot and arid desert. Even now, although in late autumn, the temperature is  above 80 degrees. But since it is dry, it does not bother … au contraire. I went to see the sunset at Zabriskie Point, which besides being a film by Antonioni (not one of his best …), is also a magical place.  I am spending this night in an oasis, so-called Furnace Creek, with palm trees, swimming pool, and a couple of restaurants. Oops … I forgot. Who is Sofia? You can probably recognize her in some of the photos. She is  white, convertible, and with a red rooftop.

Beautiful pictures, Roberto. How fun! Can you show them in a larger size by default?
